Death is a Reminder
My mom Susan passed away in January. It left me with an awful memory seeing her die before my eyes, but the experience itself was made survivable by the presence of the Holy Spirit that is most definitely present at times like this.
Death is what stands between us and what we want in this life. But it is not a roadblock; it is a reminder. A reminder that we will die, and it will not be that long before that happens, and the worst thing is that we will not try to even go for our deepest desires.
My mom was loved by many for her kindness and helpfulness. As a member of her family I saw a side of her that was always trying to do everything right, a side that thought that doing it all right was the way.
Her death is a reminder to me that achieving a perfect life does not prevent death, nor does it prevent other unfortunate events and scary situations to deal with. Those will happen anyway. And if that’s the truth, then I might as well GO FOR IT - for my dreams and my desires - because WHY NOT?? I’m gonna die anyway!!!
